All Risto shoes are hand made of high quality leather by artisans in Colombia, a USA ally. These shoes have a lower carbon footprint as they are made of all local materials. The heel is made of a solid wood platform and is finished with rubber for an excellent grip. Unlike other shoes with a fixed heel height, the heel on a Risto shoe is proportional to the size of the shoe with a size 40 shoe having roughly a 1" heel. This makes the shoes much more anatomically correct. The toe box is made of molded leather, featuring a work boot like fit in the toe area and run slightly wider than average athletic shoes.
How to Select Your Size Using the Risto Sizing Chart
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY TO ENSURE A PROPER FIT
Measure your bare foot from heel to toe by placing your foot against a wall and measuring from the wall to the end of your big toe. DO NOT trace your foot and measure the tracing as this does not take into account the length of your heel bone. Add 1 centimeter OR a ½ inch to your measurement. Look for the closest number to this in the "Interior Shoe Length" columns of the Sizing Chart. Scroll across to the left to see what the Risto Size is at that measurement. (If you fall between two sizes it is usually best to round up and select the larger size.)
In other words, you want to order a shoe that is a centimeter or half inch longer than your bare foot.
Example: Your foot measures 10 inches from heel to toe. You would add a half inch to that measurement and find the closest size using the sizing chart. We find that 10.55 inches is the closest interior length, which equals a size 40 Risto.

I bought the pink shoes for my daughter & she LOVES them. Risto is a well built shoe. The detail in these shoes are pretty amazing. The shoes are stitched on the side with glitter thread so they sparkle in the right light. They also come with a backpack style bag to put them in. That was a total surprise to use but pretty cool to keep the protected. I would like to also add that if you order these by using the foot sizing chart. Then order them 2 sizes bigger than you need. I ordered mine 1 size bigger so she can grow into them & they fit perfect now no room to grow. Lesson learned I will defiantly buy these again for her. (Posted on 4/9/10)Price Value Quality
